In the early 1960’s, Ms. Child, on the main stream media front, almost single-handedly, totally blew up every preconception of the role of women in American society (at least middle class women…) by writing a best-selling cooking book and making an extremely popular TV cooking show – eventually distributed to over 50 countries across the globe. BUT, before she was a celebrated chef, author, television celebrity, and women’s advocate – she served as a successful spy for the US during WW2.
