Hussein and Phoebe talk to the journalist Vincent Bevins, whose most recent book, 'If We Burn: The Mass Protest Decade and the Missing Revolution' looks back on the protest movements that defined the 2010s, and asks why their successes were limited, and in some case, counter-reactive to their initial objectives. Vincent talks us through some of the major protests that defined the decade, and the influence of platform-based social media had on their organisational structures. We also talk about what the future of protesting may hold in a more hostile tech environment, and whether the internet as an organisational tool is more beneficial to right-wing activists, than those on the left.
