Topic:You lie? Now what!
Who is the author and source of lies?
John 8.44You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Who was the source of Adam and Eve’s falling away from eternal life?
The Lying Spirit who is the devil who approached Adam and Eve through a garden serpent, and “deceived” them that eating the fruit is not a bad choice.
John 10.10The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Psalm 6.16-17n These six things the LORD hates; indeed, seven are repulsive to Him: A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.
Rev 21.6-8 And He said to me, “It[c] is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7He who overcomes [d]shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8But the cowardly, [e]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Bible hub strongs greek meaning of “all” and “liars”
“all” 3956 pás – each, every; of a totality" means all, all people, everyone, whoever
“liars” - Transliteration: pseudés

What does God advise us about lies:
Levi 19.11 “ ‘Do not steal. “ ‘Do not lie. “ ‘Do not deceive one another.
Proverbs 12.22The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
Proverbs 13.5 The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves.
Proverbs 14.5 An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
Hosea 11.12 Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One.
Acts 5.3Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?
Col 3.9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator
Dangers associated to lying
A) Lying Spirit dominates your life which leads you into false beliefs:
Tim 4.1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
B) You open your life for the enemy to accuse you with judgement that brings lying spirits tormenting you
Rev 12.11 - Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
How do you tame the tongue from lying?
A) James 3 - Taming the tongue - Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. 3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. 7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
B) Repent and guard your speech and tongue from evil - 1 Peter 3.10-11 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”
C) Resist lying when it comes to mind - Psalm 34.13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies
D) Honor the HolySpirit of God who lives in You, He is the first and most important person that’s closest to you, lying separates you from enjoying fellowship with Him. Make a conscious effort to know He sees everything, become a Holy Spirit pleaser in that way you will never lie again in your life. Psalm 15 - The Character of Those Who May Dwell with the Lord. You will enjoy His Holy Presence and be sensitive to His presence when you follow these commands:
1Lord, who may [a]abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; 3He who does not backbite with his tongue,Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he [b]take up a reproach against his friend; 4In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
E) Guard your heart and mind In Christ Jesus all diligence
Jesus says in Mark 7.20-23 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
F) Do not be deceived God is not mocked: you will reap what you sow. You sow in lies you will reap lies. 1 John 6. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
G) Falseness will embarrass you - people want honest, transparent friends and leaders. Proverbs 14.5 An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
H) Leaders despise liars. You will have a poor report with your leaders when you lie, cause you cant be trusted. Proverbs 17.7 Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool—how much worse lying lips to a ruler!
I) The law judges sin - you will be judged for lying - 1 Tim 9.11 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is [c]contrary to sound doctrine, 11according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.
How can you learn to stop lying?
James 4.7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Don’t fear what people will think, rather fear what God thinks because He is the most important person in your life that designed you after His Kind. Look what happened to Job...when He seen God He was ashamed for his wretched ways. Ashamed that He had more faith in his fears than the living God.
1. Be transparent about your life before Holy Spirit
2. Fear God in that way His opinion counts more than people.
3. Be honest, even if its gonna cost you a promotion, a friendship, an opportunity.
4. Don’t get involved in dishonest dealings and gains, it will bring you torment and cause you to lie perpetually to cover up your fear of being caught; and the devil will make sure you are exposed because he wants to destroy God’s people through causing shame and disrepute to them. God can only protect you if you are innocent or if you choose to repent “Turn away from lying and pray and seek God to help you be delivered from the lying strongholds.”
John 8.4 "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
Shun lies, learn to live in the light. Luke 8.17 For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.
The King of Glory and His Kingdom - Psalm 24.3-3Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.Such is the generation of those who seek him,who seek your face, God of Jacob."
Ecc 12. 13-14
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. [14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
