The Bible can be divided into 15 periods of Bible History. Recognizing these divisions is helpful for organizing the Bible chronologically in the mind and relating the various books to one another. The second of these 15 Periods is called the Postdiluvian Period, or the Period After the Flood. This period extends from Noah's departure from the Ark until the call of Abraham to leave Ur of the Chaldees (Genesis 8:15-11:32).
