Busyness is something that seems to be celebrated, where being still something we can view as a weakness, or when we do it, we end up choosing to numb ourselves instead of renewing and restoring ourselves. On this week's episode of Live from the Inside Out™ I share a story about the value of being still that gives me perspective every time I hear it, and I wholeheartedly believe when you hear this story, it will help you see the value of being still with God too.
W.O.W. (Word Of the Week): Be
V.O.W. (Verse Of the Week): “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” - Psalm 37:7
S.O.W. (Saying Of the Week): Sharpen your ax
And be sure to:
I pray this week's episode encourages you on your journey to live from the inside out.
With love and hope,
Shawn
About Shawn:
Shawn is an old soul who is young at heart. She loves to sit and talk about the ‘beyond the surface’ things in life or you can find her playing games, singing along to her favorite songs, or dancing in the kitchen.
She is married to her patient husband, Stephen and they have three fun-loving kids, and a quirky black lab, Georgia. They live in Shawn's hometown in Connecticut and from the outside in, life may seem flawless.
The truth is, from the inside out, Shawn has traveled through some dark valleys in life, including walking with anxiety, depression and a rare cancer, adenoid cystic carcinoma. During her walk with with cancer Shawn had to have her palate removed but that hasn’t stopped her from speaking encouraging words into the hearts of others. Whether she is writing, speaking (with her artificial, removable palate called an obturator) or teaching, her prayer is that the words she shares encourages those who hear them, including you.
