About Michael Jobe
Michael Robert Jobe, a retired airline captain, concluded a distinguished aviation career in August 2020 with over 18,000 flying hours. Beginning his journey as a pilot in the United States Air Force in 1986, Mike trained on the T-38 Talon and flew the C-5A/B Galaxy during the first Gulf War. He then transitioned to commercial aviation, flying with Horizon Air and later Southwest Airlines, where he also contributed as a pilot interviewer and a mentor in the "Adopt A Pilot" program for 5th-grade students.
Beyond aviation, he enjoys cycling, baseball, golf, and holds leadership roles in his church. Married to Kellie Shaffer, they have three sons, two of whom pursued aviation careers. Mike remains a dedicated mentor to aspiring pilots.
