🕯 Theme: Let us build and prosper
📖 Texts: Ezra 6:14, Genesis 22:1–12
Central Truth- Abraham willingly offered Isaac to build a glorious future.
Introduction:
- First of all, why are we here on earth? Why did God send us to be born ?
- Answer - to manifest God in his various dimensions wherever we are and in whatever situation we find ourselves.
- There are dimensions of God that he will want to reveal to his children to consolidate their greatness among men.
- it is the amount of God you carry that consolidates your authority and greatness among men.
- but in order to do this, there are various levels and kinds of testing and trials He will bring our way or permit to come to us.
- these testings and trials are meant for our discovery and decoration for greatness.
- God promised to make Abraham a great nation during his call at the age of 75 years in Genesis 12
- but Abraham was tried for 25 years.
- his trial was turned into a test.
- for 50 years Abraham was tried, tested and confirmed as one truly qualified to be in charge for God
- this confirmation of Abraham came after his obedience to sacrifice his son Isaac in genesis 22.
- Abraham's confirmation statement was " now i know.”
- note that before Abraham's confirmation test to sacrifice Isaac came, Abraham was already building altars to honour God.
-during the days of Ezra, king Cyrus, the Persian king under whom the Israelites served in captivity released them to go back to Jerusalem and build the temple of the lord to honour him.
- can you imagine people released from captivity over many years building the temple
- they faced strong opposition from the leaders of the trans Euphrate region who wrote letters to King Darius who had succeeded King Cyrus to stop the project
- but Zechariah and Haggai were encouraging them with the word to continue
- Zechariah saw a mountain ( Zechariah 4 : 7 )
- before then Zechariah had warned Zerubbabel in Zechariah 4: 6 before he saw the mountain.
- Zerubbabel was asked to speak to the mountain ( Zechariah 4: 7 )
- so, they built and prospered - Ezra 6: 14
-the vision for dag to building project –
-those who have done well so far - building committee led by hon. E.T. Adjanor –
project finance committee led by air commodore Joshua Mensah Larkai - others in the congregation.
- so just as Abraham persevered to get his confirmation from God, let us also do same
- just Abraham offered Isaac to build a glorious future, let us also do same
- just as in Ezra’s time they built and prospered, let us do same.
-the uniqueness of this year’s Isaac sacrifice is to build an altar against matrilineal negative foundations.
-we are building to send the light and set the light of God in this area
- the i am temple is a divine project.
- the i am temple is for global decoration.
