Ever try to explain the Trinity to anyone? How’d it go? Difficult usually. You're not alone. Our bible concordance doesn't index Trinity either. As with many doctrines, understanding comes from the breadth of the Bible. Today we brush over numerous scriptures which expose the Godhead. We'll also give you the simple 3 point definition.
Why does proper belief in the Trinity matter? It’s a core belief of being a Christian. Wrong belief guts out the core of who God is. We should know whom we worship. Wrong belief leads into false religion or cults.
Scriptures: 2 Peter 1:16-21;
The Father is God (Deuteronomy 32:6; Malachi 1:10; Matthew 6:9, 10:32, 23:9; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 2:18, 4:4-6; 1 John 3:1)
Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1,14; 14:10,11; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8,9; 1 John 5:20).
The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16).
There is One God (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4,6)
