On the 9th of August 1956 women of South Africa from all walks of life, came together in their diversity to stand up against an injust system that threatens their freedom of movement.
After 1994 that day was declared a public holiday and the month of Augusts turned Women's Month in South Africa. As such this day has been celebrated and recognised in various forms ever since.
This year, I, together with Tebogo Buntu felt called to create a 2 day women's month event in honour of the women of 1956. We will commemorate the day through various talks and activities
We therefore invite you to join us if you feel called .
