Rob Roos MEP & Lembit Opik on The Freeman Report with James Freeman with Guest Host Peter Mcilvenna - 3 July 2024
GUEST 1 OVERVIEW - Rob Roos is a Dutch Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing the JA21 political party since July 2019. An engineer by profession with substantial experience in the energy sector, Roos founded nine companies between 2018 and 2019. His political journey began in 2017 when he joined a new political movement in the Netherlands, leveraging his organizational skills to help build the party, though he eventually left due to differences of opinion.
Roos is known for his realistic stance on climate change, criticizing what he terms “climate change alarmism” and advocating for nuclear power as a solution to phasing out fossil fuels. He also emphasizes the importance of investing in innovative technologies like molten salt reactors. Additionally, Roos is vocal about the potential and risks of artificial intelligence (AI), advocating for Europe to compete with global powers in AI development. A staunch advocate for personal freedom, he protested and launched a lawsuit against the European Parliament’s digital green pass plan during the COVID-19 pandemic, arguing it infringed upon individual liberties.
