Scot Bertram, Hurricane Beryl is making landfall near Matagorda, Texas

Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — NATO allies are set to gather in Washington, DC this week with support for Ukraine a top priority.  A senior U.S. official says the alliance's 32 members will reaffirm that Ukraine's future is in NATO.  Significant new announcements on stepping up military, financial and political support for Ukraine are expected to be made.  

Two ----  Two people were killed and 19 others were injured in a shooting at a block party on the east side of Detroit early Sunday morning.  Someone opened fire just before 2:30 a.m.  Police say no one has been arrested yet.  

And number three — Hurricane Beryl is making landfall near Matagorda, Texas, about 90 miles southwest of Houston.   The Category 1 storm is bringing heavy rains and winds to the Texas coast.  The National Hurricane Center puts the storm's maximum sustained winds at 80 miles per hour
