Joe Salazar is a former Colorado House of Representatives member who served three terms in the state legislature. He was vice chair of the House Judiciary and State, Veterans and Military Affairs committees. Salazar was the first member of his family to go to college and law school.

 

Joe Salazar describes his fascinating multi-ethnic background. He's a civil rights attorney and political activist. Salazar has deep family roots in Colorado with his Spanish ancestors arriving in the area in the late 1500s or early 1600s. He also has ties to the Apache tribe.
