14 | Calm Your Nerves Before Singing for Others with this Step-by-Step Grounding Practice
Hey Friend!
In the moments leading up to sharing your voice and singing for people, there can be a lot of noise going through your mind as the butterflies take over and the nerves set in. It’s almost enough to keep you from doing it at all ~ if you let it. But if you can move past that fear and sing through it, you’ll rediscover your love of singing and find the joy in doing what you love, sharing your gift with others, and expressing your heart through your voice.
That’s why I’m sharing my personal grounding practice in today’s podcast episode ~ it’s a simple process to move through those anxious thoughts and the sensations they create in the body before stepping on stage and opening your mouth to sing. I’ll walk you through 6 steps, from backstage, through walking on stage, and into those first few notes and beyond. Because the truth is ~ once you get up there, and get into the zone, and really let go… there is nothing like the feeling of singing your heart out!
So whether you dream of performing live on a big stage or you just want to record a new song to share online, this grounding practice will help you calm your nerves and find that inner sense of peace before opening your heart, opening your mouth, and sharing your voice ~ in whatever form that takes (virtual / live / recorded, etc.).
I pray this blesses you!
