In concluding this section, Paul warns Timothy that people, because they have itching ears, will heap for themselves teachers who will scratch that itch. They will turn their ears away from truth and turn to fables. This is something we need to be vigilant about. It's important to understand that we're called to be faithful servants of the ministry. God has set before us the task of being evangelists and fulfilling our ministry. This doesn't mean you go buy a tent and hold meetings. It means that wherever you go, you are an evangelist for the Kingdom of God, and you have a ministry to fulfill. Be willing to share. It’s also polite to share.
