Mindy Marriott is a prominent advocate for mental health in Steamboat Springs, serving as the Executive Director of REPS (Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide). Under her leadership, REPS plays a critical role in raising awareness about suicide prevention in the Yampa Valley, providing community support, educational programs, and outreach. She has been instrumental in organizing various initiatives aimed at building a suicide-safer community, such as safeTALK workshops, which train participants to recognize and respond to suicide risk.
Mindy also actively collaborates with local organizations and mental health professionals to address the growing concerns about mental health, especially in Routt and Moffat counties, where suicide continues to be a leading cause of death among young and middle-aged adults. Her work is crucial in offering crisis support and connecting people in need with appropriate mental health resources.
One of the key upcoming events she is involved with is the 3rd Annual Night of Hope and Healing, taking place on September 28, 2024, at the Old Town Pub in Steamboat Springs. This event will feature live music from Hans Williams, food, and a silent auction, all aimed at fostering community support for REPS' mission and raising funds for mental health initiatives in the region. The evening promises to be a hopeful and healing experience for those affected by suicide and those passionate about mental health advocacy
