More than ever, rock and roll artists, musicians have become our Ghost Poets and conductors on the Mystery Train. Some themed sets, the answer to a challenge and 3 new releases covered.
Make no mistake, children, the storm is upon us and it swirls around us daily, and shelter can be found, and like minded hearts and souls can be heard. We cover new releases from John Hiatt, Micky & The Motorcars and the Midnight River Choir this week. Over 20 artists speaking out and singing songs about the current political, economic, religious and social scene and a challenge answered by a listener.
I was challenged, be one stalwart soul over the amount of time I must spend coming up with music for the show, as it's sole producer, music director and host. That challenge was easily answered, a random pull of my iPod built one entire set with the music that's normally heard here. As always; authentic, passionate, full of raw rock and roll soul and touching base with the true authentic roots of music; blues, country, gospel , rock and roll, Americana, roots, I don't care what you call it, it's real. Scroll to the bottom, click "Listen Now", "Play in pop-up" or "Download" and don't forget that the podcast is available in iTunes for free. Please, please, please become part of the show. Comment on it, rate it, write an e-mail. It's easy to keep up with it, you can Like Music That Doesn't Suck Canal Water or The Desolation Angel on Facebook (and that's the only way you'll get a full setlist of who's played each week), hit me, Kip Williams, with a Friend request on Facebook, or follow me on Twitter (kip_williams@twitter.com). Share this on Facebook, and you do get some extra consideration when asking for certain artists or songs in upcoming shows.
As always, thanks to you all. The show will be going live, coming up here in the Fall at least one night a week, nationwide, and that's due to you, and these great artists here, not me.
And you know that's true because I'm
The Desolation Angel
Peace out.
