This week I have jury duty.
I have no idea if I will be chosen for a jury, though I suspect not.
Every time I’m summoned, I go with high hopes but I’ve never even been considered for an actual jury.
It doesn’t matter.
Jury duty is one of those social obligations we have to each other.
Sure, it’s a hassle.
Takes me away from work and my hubby has to take over child care duties for a few days.
But still, it feels good to be responsible to your fellow citizens and jury duty gives us that opportunity.
So next time you get a summons, don’t shirk your responsibilities.
Go, be bored and just maybe, you’ll get chosen.
