Once again it is the day after Memorial Day.
And once again we have failed to learn the lessons this day was set aside to teach us.

Wars have real and lasting impact on people.
Wars are traumatic.
People die.
Their families have to learn to live with that loss.
I am at the point in my life where more and more, I just don’t see the point.
And yet, we keep fighting and we, as a nation put an obscene amount of money into being ready for war.
What annoys me the most is that for a fraction of that, we could prevent or solve most of the problems that cause conflict in the first place.
It’s hard to remain optimistic when our policies are so pointless.
Still, I’m a Humanist, which means I am committed to trying.
