A few weeks ago a friend of mine died.
----more----
He was well liked within the Humanist community.
His death was sudden.
He was fairly young so it caught most everyone off guard. We weren’t expecting it.
Which brings me to today’s topic. Life is fleeting. It can end at any moment.
I realize that most people find the thought of death frightening.
But for a Humanist, the thought of our impending death fills us with resolve.
Since we know our time is limited, we resolve to live every moment to the fullest.
My friend lived his life fully and he will be missed.
As will everyone who lost their lives on this day 11 years ago.
But don’t let the sadness of our losses get your down.
Live life to the fullest while you still can.
