Nanette Sagastume, the wife of a Vietnam War veteran and mother of an Iraqi War veteran has written a book, We Also Serve: A Family Goes to War, about the effects of war on generations of family joins the Mental Health Channel on eHealth Radio. Nanette is a retired nurse practitioner and maintains a holistic healing practice as a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner.

Nanette Sagastume received her baccalaureate degree in nursing from the University of San Francisco and retired in 2006 as a nurse practitioner from Student Health Services at California State University, Chico. She maintains a private practice as a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner (a holistic healing modality). She has a special interest in serving military families and veterans. In 2001 she started a support group—still going strong—for family members of those serving in the military. She recently completed a memoir of her experiences as the wife of a Vietnam vet and the mother of Marine deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2004. Her book, We Also Serve: A Family Goes to War, was published in 2011 and is available for purchase as hardback, softback, and e-book through her website, www.wealsoserve.net, and on-line at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
