The high church of Soulfulness and Truth hit the airwaves on Thursday, with the congregation assembled and working from the gospel of the Desolation Angel. Music is at it's best when it's a clear, pure connection between the music and the songwriter. These artists presented it simply and sparingly, letting the power of the music they were putting out speak for itself:
- Scott H. Biram - Just Another River
- CW Ayon - Solitary Man
- Don Duprie (w/ Doop & The Inside Outlaws) - Let You Bleed
- William Elliott Whitmore - Midnight
- Molly Gene One Whoaman Band - Reformation
- Possessed by Paul James - Older In My Body
- Alison Lewis - Blue eyed Brother
- Michael Stanley - Rosewood Bitters
- Lucinda Williams - Blessed
- Don Duprie - If Everybody Was My Friend
- Jackson Browne - Late For The Sky
Yes, we went up head on against the CMA's and it was on purpose. Whilst Nashville's glitterati kings and queens of trash-pop country paraded across the stage and patted one another on the back over the millions they're making with the fast one they're pulling on the American public, we hit the airwaves with a roster of people who are devoted to the traditions of songwriting, musicianship, craftsmanship, authenticity and bring it with rawness, passion and the truth and bring it close to the bone and down in the blood (which, I suppose, is why none of them are welcome in Nashvegas). Thanks for supporting them, and supporting independent music and independent artists. Share this as many ways as possible and send the message.
