Yes, I celebrate Christmas.
I even have a crèche in my house and I long for one of those expensive light up lawn crèches complete with camel.
I mean, if you are going to put up a crèche, you should do it right.
----more----
I am an equal opportunity holiday celebrator and my son has yet to meet a holiday he doesn’t like.
At this time of celebrate several holirdays including Hanuukah, Saturnalia, Kwaanza, Solstice and whatever other holidays might occur this time of year.
But today? Today is Christmas.
And with any luck Santa will have eaten our cookies and left a stack of presents for us.I realize a lot of Humanists don’t feel comfortable celebrating a holiday with religious origins.
So I want to take this time to remind you: being a Humanist doesn’t mean being a scrooge.
It means being honest with yourself and living life joyously.
Parties and celebrations are joyous times.
You can join in the holiday fun without compromising your beliefs.
It doesn’t make you a hypocrite.
The motto of the season is peace on earth and goodwill towards all.Do your part and don’t be a scrooge.
Happy Christmas everyone!
