How to live as the gates of Heaven - New Year Message - January 6, 2013 Where do you want to be in your relationship with God in January 2014? What are you willing to change to get there?  Remember, one definition of insanity is to keep doing the same things and expect different results. In our lives, we aren't trying to fix something, we are trying to become something. The Kingdom of Heaven doesn't move forward with the absence of negatives, but the presence of positives. How can we begin to thin like and act like missionaries instead of club members? Making it simple - Two things about our calling Matthew 22:36-40  "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."  38 This is the first and greatest commandment.  39  And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Set your mind, your heart to love God and to know Him Set aside some time every day to pray, to meet with God.  Pray Ephesians 1:17-19  Spend some time reading the Bible everyday and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and to give you revelation.  Try fasting for a day every week/month, rest from your labors to seek God.  Obey what the Lord tells you to do even if you don't want to right away and the dullness of your spirit will begin to lift...Doing this will create hunger in your spirit and feed your spirit, the primary eternal part of who you are. Hebrews 11:6 The Lord rewards the hungry and the thirsty -  Psalm 107:8-9 Seek the Lord's Blessing for our city  Jeremiah 29:7 Being a gate means being a vessel.  Are you willing to be inconvenienced for the Kingdom of Heaven this year?  Then be willing to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit when it would be much easier and safer not to and you will begin to see the Kingdom come in front of you. Do you want to access the resources of Heaven more this year?  Then you have to give the Lord all of your resources - they are now  His. If you want to try to take of yourself, He will let you.  Do you want to teach yourself how to give everything to God?  Then give the Lord a tithe of your income every week. It is when we have no resources of our own that the resources of Heaven become available to us.
