Rights Action, Guatemala and the Fight Against Canadian Mining Corporations

Today, Tatenda Chikukwa and Jim Hutchings had the pleasure of talking with Robbi Humble, recently returned from a visit to Guatemalan communities who are resisting mostly Canadian mining corporations.  These corporations are being opposed by indigenous communities because the mining operations are making it impossible to live off the land as they have for centuries.  Water supplies are dwindling and contaminants are making the lands uninhabitable for farming.  Our Canadian government seems oblivious to the harm being done by Canadian corporations.  Robbi Humble was there and is still reflecting on her experiences in those communities.
