Humanism is a pragmatic philosophy.
Our goal is to live life successfully and ethically.

The question is – what is success and what is ethical?
Humanism answers these questions in a pragmatic way, meaning, if it helps us and others, it’s good and ethical and we are successful.
If it doesn’t, we aren’t.
It may seem arbitrary to judge good and bad by outcomes. After all, it’s a bit subjective.
We are ok with that. We understand the subjective nature of our ethics and still feel they are better than any alternative.
How else would we judge whether things are good or bad?
