Comedy, Creepin' and 'Coustic music with Joel Murray A.K.A UBOAT

When I meet a fan of the Duncan Trussell Family Hour I know I have met a new friend. That was the case with Joel Murray. Joel came over with a sweet UBOAT shirt, a couple of UBOAT CDS and 2 DTFH stickers. Yes! This podcast is me getting to know someone I really want to get to know. I first saw UBOAT play at the Wherehouse for the Dreamy Soundz Group Therapy Compilation Vol. 1. Release party. He played early but left an impression on me. When I started the podcast I wanted to have this guy on. I only knew him as UBOAT. Thanks to Facebook me and Joel became friends and I found out that not only is this guy UBOAT, but this guy is a fan of Joe Rogan and Duncan and all the DeathSquad podcast. He also works at Hyenas comedy club downtown. So I couldn't wait to have him on. His songs were raw, creepy and freakin awesome and we talked music, comedy and podcast as well as the Fort Worth scene. His first song is called Written in Mascara and the middle track (one of my personal faves) is These Windows Are Made For Stalking and the last track is called Heaven Sun Hell. Now after the last song plays we do come back and talk for a few more minutes. I couldn't stop talking to Joel. The episode runs a little long because of it. We talked another hour after the podcast. Its hard to say whats in here other than tons of stuff. From Road Soda, to recording with Robby Rux and Jen, and the Vincent Neil Emerson fascination and even playing the Song Writers showcase and Luke McGlathery winning.
