Brandon and I made a trip to Weber State’s Stewart Stadium…what an amazing setting for college football and track & field! It’s literally tucked into the base of the Wasatch Mountains. Anyway, since we were already loitering on campus and creeping everybody out, Jerry Bovee pulled us into his office and graciously agreed to an episode of Mr. Goodyear’s Neighborhood.
Since 2009, Jerry Bovee has been the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Weber State University. Jerry is responsible for managing 16 NCAA Division 1 sport programs at WSU, and recently worked on a bid for the Big Sky Conference to host the men’s basketball tournament for the next three years. That sounds like a lot of work, Jerry is a busy guy, which is why it was an honor and privilege to have Jerry give us part of his day and report on the athletics programs at WSU.
Take a listen, it’s a fun episode as we cover a lot of information ranging from football to track, softball and then to basketball. Damian Lillard...yeah, he definitely came up too. Did you see him play in the NBA All-Star game?
Enjoy the show and stay tuned for more interviews from Mr. Goodyear’s Neighborhood.
