Chris Gaviglio is the current Strength and Conditioning manager for the Queensland Academy of Sport. Chris has been involved with elite sport for over 15 years working across multiple Olympic sports and professional football codes in both the northern (Bath Rugby) and southern (Wallabies and Gold Coast SUNS AFL) hemisphere.
During his time in the UK (Bath Rugby), Chris was involved with UKSport in multiple applied sports science projects. His major project involved monitoring salivary hormones (testosterone and cortisol) responses to competition and training in rugby union. This work is now currently being formalized into a PhD, which is almost complete. Chris has several papers already publish as a result of this work and other collaborative work with other applied sport scientists. Consequently Chris brings a wealth of experience in the training of elite athletes and the application of sports science into athletic programs.
Chris also owns an online business specializing in physical training and musculoskeletal rehabilitation products of which Chris has designed them. One product in particular is the SRT – Sports Rehab Tourniquet that is the sole supplier of pneumatic tourniquets for occlusion cuff training.
On a sporting level, Chris also has a strong interest in the sport of Track and Field previously competing in the shot put and discus at a national level.
