Adorned with beautiful statues, dramatic markers and lush gardens, the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery is an outdoor museum recording California history from the Gold Rush Era through today and is the home of the Sacramento Historic Rose Garden at the Cemetery. Anita Clevenger, Curator of the rose garden joins us to chat about the history of the garden, the wonderful collection of roses that grows there and she shared information on their upcoming Open Garden Day where rose lovers from around the globe come to tour the garden and have an opportunity to purchase on-site some of rare roses that are growing in the cemetery. This garden was recently awarded the Great Rosarians of the World Award "Garden Hall of Fame Award" for the outstanding efforts of the team of volunteers that work tireless hours to ensure that this living museum is maintained and that all who come receive an education on the roses therein.
