My Sweetest Friends,
This morning I cried as I sat in a memorial ceremony for the fallen soldiers and victims of terror of Israel – those who gave their lives so that I and my family could be here in this moment.
And tonight I laughed and glowed as I shared in the first hours of celebration of Israel’s independence – a wonder of joy and miracles and familial love.
How can I possibly share with those who live outside of Israel what it means to be part of this living history? How can I possibly explain to any Jew still living in the exile why their lives are only shadows of Judaism until they come home?
I don’t know if I can.
But the attached shu-shine comes from my deepest heart. And maybe it will reach yours…
Moadim L’Simchah L’Geulah Sh’leimah — May this joyous holiday bring the ultimate redemption.
With all my love,
~Shu
