If you have been a Christian for any length of time, you know what is like to have a little taste of heaven, and then to have the shock of coming down off the mountain into the messiness of everyday life and relationships. God gives us a glimpse of His beauty and the glory of heaven in order to teach us that we were made for something far greater. C.S. Lewis once wrote about this deep longing that God places in our hearts: “We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words—to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it…”
Join with us this Sunday, as we consider the beauty of what God offers to us in Christ, and how He not only creates the longing, but then leads us to it. Be praying for our time together!
