An Integrated Life
Have you seen the Pixar movie, Inside Out? It’s
a touching film about the voices in your head, the various emotions that
sometimes argue with each other and occasionally lead you into trouble. The
movie is not theologically or psychologically accurate, but it’s not trying to
be – it is entertaining and pretty insightful for a cartoon! Tickets are only
$3 at the theater in South Salem. I justified the expense as research, since
I’m preaching on our emotions this weekend in the second installment of a new
series of five messages on the integration of the many facets of our lives.
I’ll show the trailer at the beginning of my sermon and then study some
passages in the Bible with you that show Jesus expressing his feelings.
Examples from his life legitimate all five emotions presented in the movie.
Come worship with us as we learn to control our emotions and let them serve us
rather than serving our emotions and letting them control us.
