Fernando Martinez, Operations and Outreach Coordinator with English for New Bostonians-English Works Campaign is a guest on this episode of Monday Night Talk! Fernando comes in to share details on a business forum in Quincy that shows businesses about the Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP). WTFP is a pool of money that, according to the Massachusetts Department of Labor’s website, “provides resources to Massachusetts businesses and workers to train current and newly hired employees.” Any business that pays into the Commonwealth’s Unemployment Insurance system is eligible to receive Workforce Training Fund dollars to train their incumbent workers, and those eligible are especially encouraged to attend. . Grants from the Workforce Training Fund Program have been used to train workers in a wide variety of needs, including English language training, new manufacturing production methods, supervisory and leadership skills, and many other topics. Interested parties should contact Fernando Martinez at (617) 982-6864 or fmartinez@englishfornewbostonians.org. Do you have an topic for a future show or info on an upcoming community event?
