We're taking our show on the road!
We're at The Improv Shop talking to the General Manager Andy Sloey. Andy, a St. Louis native, has been studying and performing improv since 1996. He holds a BFA in performance from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University and is a graduate of both the iO Training Center and Second City Conservatory in Chicago. He's performed at iO, produced and performed shows with his independent team ‘Let Them Ho’s Fight’ and made frequent appearances at The Playground Theater and The Second City’s Donny’s Skybox with various other teams and shows. He has also performed at the Chicago, Seattle, St. Louis and Los Angeles Improv Festivals, as well as the Del Close Marathon at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City. Before moving to Chicago, he was an ensemble member and Artistic Director of long form at CITY Improv in St. Louis’ Union Station. Andy is currently an adjunct professor at Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts. He coaches The Improv Shop Harold team Burnside.
Andy was either gracious enough or naive enough to say yes to be our first interview. For that we thank him! Hopefully after spending the better part of an hour with him, you will have a new found interest in improv and you'll find your way to The Improv Shop.
If you do, let him know where you heard about it! Actually, let everyone know where you heard it.
So stop reading, start downloading, and for the love of comedy… comment, like, and share!
Also, support local improv! And podcasts!
