Gary Mosbaugh, FFA advisor at Southmont High School in Indiana, explains how he and his students are preparing for the National Land and Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma. He describes some of the factors they must be familiar with – such as slope, texture, erosion, drainage and limiting layers – so they can determine whether a site is appropriate for crops or a building.
