“Why Are the Opinions of Others Such a Big Deal to Me?”
Teacher: Joe Deegan
Do you ever find yourself doing anything anybody tells you to do just because you want them to like you? Do you ever laugh at jokes you don’t get just because you want to fit in with the crowd? Do you ever walk into a room and suddenly feel like every eye is on you and you alone? Have I asked too many questions? Is this paragraph too long? Wait, are you still going to take my class? Okay, I obviously care a lot about what you think of me. But I have a feeling that many of you care just as much about what others think of you. Good news—we’ll deal with some of these issues together in this class and talk about why and how God wants to turn our thoughts outward, away from ourselves.
