Your words are powerful …
1. Your words can Add or Subtract value
Proverbs 10:20-21 - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of wisdom.
Proverbs 25:11 - A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
In settings of silver.
2. Your words can Diffuse or Ignite a situation.
Proverbs 15:1 - A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:18 - A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention. [ESV]
3. Your words can affect your Health
Proverbs 12:18 - There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.
Proverbs 4:20…22 - My son, give attention to my words; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
4. Your words can speak Life or Death.
Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 15:4 - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
