Shechem is the crossroads of many of the great OT characters - Abram, Moses, Joshua. Yet in Judges, in Shechem there
is no mention of YHWH in this narrative. Isn’t
it interesting, that the intersection of the Greats of the OT, here at this
point in the story, YHWH has removed himself.
Perhaps the point is when YHWH is absent, there really isn’t much of a point, is there—the plot is gone and lost. Confusion remains.
