Prof Emrys Westacott is a professor of philosophy at Alfred University in Western New York State, where he has focused on issues related to ethics, the history of philosophy, and how the discipline of philosophy can be practically engaged in as a reflection upon modern life. Originally from the UK, Prof. Westacott studied and received degrees from the University of Sheffield in the UK, McGill University in Montreal and the University of Texas. He has been featured in the New York Times and his articles have appeared in a variety of professional and popular publications, including Three Quarks Daily, The Humanist and Philosophy Now.
