The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to Ireland has highlighted again differences over the EU-Canada trade deal known as CETA. Yesterday both the Taoiseach and Mr Trudeau reaffirmed their commitment to the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. However, the Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says the deal is a serious threat to Irish democratic and judicial systems. And he says it’s imperative the CETA deal gets debated in public.
