A professional composer and musician for more than 40 years, Erik Scott has toured the planet and played bass for the musical duo Flo & Eddie(featuring members of The Turtles) and Alice Cooper, for whom he also produced a couple of records. Erik has even wrote and recorded music for a variety of hit TV shows and films, including “Starsky & Hutch”, “Charlie’s Angels”,” Vegas”, “The Love Boat” and “National Lampoon’s Vacation”. In the 1990s, he became one of the founding members of Sonia Dada, a Chicago-based rock/soul/R&B band which reached #1 on the Australian music charts with their self-titled debut album. Eric Scott was also the co-writer of “Father, Father,” the title track for gospel/R&B legend Pops Staples' album that won a GRAMMY Award for ‘Best Contemporary Blues Album’ in 1994. This eventually led Erik to working with Mavis Staples on her 2004 record ‘Have A Little Faith’. As the 2000’s progressed, Scott drew his attention towards solo projects and albums, including “Other Planets”, “And The Earth Bleeds”, and “Spirits”…. his latest accomplishment, “In the Company of Clouds” which took top accolades of “ALBUM OF THE YEAR” and “BEST CONTEMPORARY INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM” at the ZMR MUSIC AWARDS ceremony this past May in New Orleans, LA for 2016.
What you may not know about Erik is that he first got his start in the 4th grade with one of the most sexiest instruments of all time, the trombone.
