Bellator NYC Podcast – Bellator NYC is a mixed martial arts event scheduled for June 24th, 2017 at world famous Madison Square Garden. This is the second PPV card in the history of the MMA promotion. Bellator’s plans are to build their PPV branding and have a regular schedule of PPV events.

Headling the card is a grudge match years in the making. Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva have continuously verbally, and sometime physically, sparred through their time in the UFC and on The Ultimate Fighters, as opposing coaches. Their battle at the end of the airing of TUF was scrapped due to both fighters having issues with drug testing prior to their bout. Years later, they are ready to settle the score and put an end to this saga.

In the co-main, the legendary Fedor Emelianenko will be battling Matt Mitrione in a battle that is sure to produce fireworks. Fedor is widely regarded as the greatest heavyweight fighter in MMA history and Mitrione is an athletic, skillful and intelligent fighter who will be looking to use Fedor’s legend to boost his own.

This stacked card features three title fights in bouts that Bellator is hoping to boost their brand and their impact on the MMA landscape. By combining skilled veterans of MMA that are well known and respected and having their own young, talented stable of fighters, Bellator is closing the distance between their promotion and the worldwide leader of MMA, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC.
