Snowmobiling and ATV Riding
With over 600 miles of beautiful snowmobile trails (www.haywardlakes.com/snowmobiling) and 140 miles of year-round
ATV trails (atvhayward.com) in Sawyer County, the Hayward area is one of the premier snowmobile and ATV destinations
in the country. If you would like to try out these amazing trails but don’t have the equipment, consider renting your
“rides” at the following locations:

Mon. thru Sat., 9am-5:30pm, Closed Sundays. Rentals start at $229 for 7hrs for snowmobiles and $179 for 4hrs for ATVs. MUST call ahead to make
reservations.

Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, and Fat Biking
The 100km American Birkebeiner trail system was voted the top cross-country ski destination in a 2016 USA Today poll.
In addition to the Birkie trail there are many other great trails (haywardlakes.com/skiing) in the area for classic- or skatestyle
skiing, and even snowshoeing. For trail info check norwiski.com. skinnyski.com, and birkie.com websites. Also, the
CAMBA mountain bike trail system has become a huge draw for winter fat bike enthusiasts with over 50 miles of groomed

New Moon Bike and Ski – 715-634-8685 www.newmoonski.com Location: 15569 US Hwy 63 N. Hayward. Store hours: M-F 9am-5:30pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun
10am-4pm. Fat bike rentals for $50/day (rental fee can be applied to later purchase). Classic-waxless ski package rentals for $30/day (adult) and $15/day
(kids). $10 discount for additional days. Snowshoe rentals for $20/day (adult) and $10/day (kids). Half-price discount for additional days. XC ski lessons
available by appointment.
Riverbrook Bike and Ski – 715-634-0437 www.riverbrookbike.com Location: 10538 Main St Hayward. Store hours: M-F 10am-6pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-
4pm. Mountain bike rental and demo rates start at $50 per day. Fat bike rates start at $60 per day. Rentals include helmet and can be applied toward
purchase within 10 days. Classic-style skis available for rent at $25/day.
Up North Guided Tours – 715-413-2076 Location: 43435 US Hwy 63 Cable. Guided tours including all equipment to try your hand at Fat Biking and
Snowshoeing. Call ahead for details and reservations. Typical tour hours from Thursday night through Sunday day. Rates (per participant) start at $69 for
90 minute tour to $259 for all-day tour (includes lunch and both activities).
Sledding and Skating
Town of Hayward Recreational Forest There is a public sledding hill (and xc-ski trails) at the Town of Hayward Recreational Forest. Directions: From
downtown Hayward follow US Hwy 63 south (1.2 mi), turn right (north) onto Greenwood Lane. After passing the Hayward schools you will come to a stop sign
(tee) at County Hill Road. Take a left. Look for small sign on left after 1.5 mi.
Hayward Skating Rink This public outdoor skating rink is maintained by the City of Hayward at the “Tot Lot” located at Minnesota Avenue and 4th Street next
to Grandma’s Day Care.
Friday Skate Party at Hayward Sports Center (715) 634-4791 www.haywardsportscenter.com Location: 10475 Sutliff Drive, Hayward. The Hayward Sports
Center holds community skate parties on select Friday nights. $4 admission. $4 skate rental (if needed). Doors open at 7:15pm and skate ends at 9pm.

Guided Ice Fishing
