“Art and Survival in the 21st Century” An artist’s view of the state of the nation and loss of the creative spirit.
James Menzel-Joseph is one of our nations more insightful artists and sculptors, who began receiving critical acclaim at the age of fifteen. He is related to Germany’s most prolific nineteenth century artists Adolph Menzel. A Korean War veteran, Joseph has also been a leading activist on anti-war & progressive issues, and a harsh critic of the state of western society & its threats to a sustainable future. He has received numerous awards and his art has been displayed at the National Archives in Washington, the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago and elsewhere. “Art and Survival in the 21st Century” is a beautifully illustrated work that explores the role of art as an aid to help us see past the illusions of discord & strife into a clearer reality of the global & social landscape we face today. An artist’s view of the state of the nation and loss of the creative spirit.
