There’s no way to grasp how significant it is that we are made holy before God if we don’t grasp how desperately needy we are. We cannot truly love and be thankful to God if we don’t see our sin. This is what separated Saul from David. Saul wanted the external things to look good to others. David, who also did terrible things, truly wanted a clean heart before God. David was saved from his sin – Saul, perished in his. Today, you can be assured of your position of holiness before God not because of anything you have ever done or could ever do but because of the sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf. He has made you holy. That is a once and for all act. You cannot lose your salvation.
