This weeks EveryDay Leader is intentional about everything in her life and especially about overcoming obstacles. Juli Disbro is a wife, mother and executive assistant that has been living with Multiple Sclerosis since August 25, 2011.. Multiple Sclerosis is an incurable, debilitating disease treated predominantly with injectable, expensive bio-meds. Frustrated and physically sick from the negative side effects of the self-administered injections (boasting only a 30% success rate) Juli stopped traditional treatment after 6 months (despite her neurologist’s direction) and began advocating for her own health. Since those initial symptoms and the progression to the MS diagnosis, she had been scouring the internet for information on several fronts with regard to MS, treatments and prognosis. She also had many discussions someone who was studying to become a certified health coach. Through her health coach classes she became aware of Dr. Terry Wahls. Dr. Wahls, an MS patient herself, had developed a nutritional protocol that successfully moved her out of a tilt-recline wheelchair and restored her ability to ride a bike. After watching Dr. Wahls TedX talk, https://youtu.be/KLjgBLwH3Wc Juli was instantly motivated and hopeful that her future could be much more than injections and illness. Juli is passionate about living her life with success and in this week’s lesson, Juli teaches us about dedication and commitment to her work and her family and the strategies she is putting in place to live a life with multiple sclerosis. Juli is ready to share her story to help reach others that may be struggling with these same fears.
