The Seventh Sunday of Easter
The Ascension of our Lord
May 13, 2018
Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church & School!
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.
We pray you will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through Jesus.
Worship Focus: Where is He now? Who? Jesus, that is who. He is still around, just not as visible as He once was. But no worries, we will get to see Him visibly. For us in Christ, this is a time we eagerly look forward to; while those who do not look to Him for salvation, that is a different emotion. As mother’s do not want to lose sight of their child(ren), so much more Jesus does not want us out of His sight nor to have us leave His sight for all eternity. This is just one important truth connected to the Ascension of our Lord. (Ascension is Jesus returning to heaven 40 days following His rising from the grave, just as He said would happen. In heaven He continues to look after all our needs with our eternity in mind.)
