Everyone has THAT neighbour. You know the one. That neighbour who is known for having a perfectly manicured lawn and yelling at local kids to stay away from it. Or that neighbour who leaves their garbage cans out for days, or their recycling strewn across your lawn. Everyone has a story about that neighbour. But what would it be like to be that neighbour for the right reasons? That neighbour you can go to when there’s a struggle and you need someone to talk to. That neighbour you can always borrow tools from, or who steps in to give you a hand with your home reno project. How can we be that neighbour—who cares about and loves those around them—without any strings attached?
Jesus spoke about that neighbour.
This four-part series will be based on Luke 10:25-29, where Jesus answers the greatest command by saying we’re to love God and love others. God has placed you in your neighbourhood for a purpose. Your work has meaning beyond earning a paycheque. That hobby you are passionate about is not actually all about you! We will talk about what it means and what it looks like to truly love those in your community.
This will be a Vision Series to motivate and challenge our church to live out their faith in their neighbourhoods.
Your neighbours are those among whom God has placed you. They could be in your workplace, on your street or where you hang out. The momentum in our lives is often stuck in high speed. We don’t take the time to really see those around us. But God has placed you where you are meant to be His light and love to others. (Block party; hand out the neighbourhood block cards).
