The Leadership of a Godly Dad
June 17, 2018
This Sunday is Father’s Day. For many of us this day often brings up memories of our own dads as we think of what to write in our Father’s Day card. This is easier for some because they have a loving and healthy relationship with their dad. For others this tradition is entirely absent because their dad was, and perhaps still is, entirely absent. And for many, this day brings back painful memories of abuse or neglect. Regardless of which of these reflect your own experience, God, our heavenly Father, has created all fathers for a significant and special role in the lives of their children. Whether your own father embodied God’s purpose for his fatherhood or not, God has entrusted all fathers with the significant work of leading their families to know and love Jesus. Fatherhood is an incredible gift and responsibility that has limitless opportunities for blessing our children as we lead them toward Christ. This weekend we will explore the leadership of a godly Dad as God designed fatherhood to be.
