The Book of Numbers is also called The Book of wanderings The name comes from the numberings of the Israelites, at Mt. Sinai and on the plains of Moab. The book describes Israel’s experiences.

 

They have failed to trust in the Lord to enter the Promised Land and consequently are forced to wander in the wilderness for 40 years. Their experience serves as a warning to us of how important it is to be confident in the Lord.
